The shortest month of the year, but somehow, it felt really long! With multiple snowstorms and just all round terrible weather, it has been the perfect month to curl up with a good book and some hot chocolate – and I definitely made good use of it! I got through a very good variety this month with an even mix of new releases, backlist titles and some old childhood favourites. Without further ado, here’s a look at my February 2019!

Reading challenge updates:
1. Beat the Backlist: This month, I read 3 books from my backlist, including The Afterlife of Holly Chase which I’ve been wanting to get to for ages! I’ve been a little focused on rereads though, so this number isn’t as high as i would’ve liked.
2. Year of Epic Reads: As I mentioned, I’m doing both the monthly and quarterly challenges for this one. I’m still thinking over what to choose for the quarterly challenge, and I’m planning to pick a book for this in March.
- Challenge of the Month: ON AN ADVENTURE!
This challenge is daring you to read a book that takes you on the road, on a mission, or to a place you’ve never gone. Travel the galaxy between the covers of a book!
Chosen Book: Enchantée
I knew this was going to be my pick for this month the minute I saw the challenge. France has always been a place I’ve wanted to visit, and Versailles in particular has been #1 on my bucket list since the age of ten. Fun fact, a middle grade memoir of Marie Antoinette was one of the earliest historical fiction novels I read, and that was the book that first introduced me to the world of Versailles and the French Revolution.
