June is at an end, and in Canada, summer is finally in full swing! Between BookCon and a huge pile of books to catch up on (not to mention the review backlog), it has been quite a busy month! Not to mention, we’re already halfway through the year, so it’s time to take a look at my reading goals and reevaluate a few. Here’s my wrap up for June, and don’t forget to check out my BookCon post which contains my book haul from the event!

Mid-Year Freak Out Book Tag 2019
And as always, here are my reading challenge updates:
1. Beat the Backlist: This month, I read 3 books from my backlist, and finally got around to finishing Furyborn, which I absolutely loved. All of my rereads were in audiobook format and I really enjoyed listening to these titles!
2. Year of Epic Reads:
-
- Challenge of the Month: A BOOK THAT CELEBRATES EPIC PRIDE
We’re embracing Pride Month with an extra special Epic Pride celebration, so, of course, we want you to read a book that centers the LGBTQIAP+ experience. Whether it’s a romance or a tragedy, lighthearted or a sucker punch to the feels, we think it’s only fitting that we give these stories the spotlight this month.
Chosen Book: Once & Future – Amy Rose Capetta & Cori McCarthy
While I wasn’t particularly impressed with the book itself, Once & Future was amazing from a representation point of view. I’ve never come across a book with so much diversity in the main characters. Once & Future follows Ari, a reincarnation of King Arthur, on her quest to defeat the evil taking over a futuristic world, accompanied of course by a teenaged Merlin and many others. Mid-Year Goal Check
With June wrapped up, we’re halfway through the year, and I took some time to assess my reading goal. My original goal was 100 books, and now that I’m nearly there with 90 books down, I’m increasing my goal to 150 books – to be revisited at the end of September for one more goal check.
Stats for the Month
Number of Books: 17
Number of Pages: 6,467
Goodreads Challenge Progress: 90/100
Did you read any of these books or do you plan to? I’d love to hear your thoughts on them!
I enjoyed ghosts of the shadow market too! And I have the Storm Crow on my TBR for next month
