November was a less productive month than usual for me. While I did knock off a few major reads still pending on this year’s TBR, I still have a couple of mammoth books that I’m not sure I’ll be able to get to this year, namely The Priory of the Orange Tree and Alison Weir’s latest in the Six Tudor Queens series. I also finished my reread of both The Alchemyst series and finally, The Percy Jackson books (in audio). On the downside, I came across not one, but two books that caused me to have a reading slump of nearly a week – I’m still in the process of trying to finish one of them, but more on that when I write the review for it. Overall, a rather average month, but seeing as I’m well over my reading goals for the year, a good one all the same.

And as promised, here are my reading challenge updates:
1. Beat the Backlist: This month, I read 3 books from my backlist, and I’m particularly excited about Dread Nation. I just got approved for the ARC of the sequel and I can’t wait to get started on it!
2. Year of Epic Reads:
- Challenge of the Month:Β READ A BOOK YOU JUDGED BY ITS COVER!
Maybe you thought, “wow, that book is gorgeous! I need to get it!” Or maybe it was more of a, “I don’t know what’s happening here but I NEED TO!!” Or maybe you were just intrigued and impulse bought something because you couldn’t help yourself! Whichever kind of cover judge you are, we’re encouraging you to embrace it.
Chosen Book: Wicked Saints – Emily A. Duncan
I was debating whether to read this or not due to the many conflicting reviews I’ve been seeing all year, but the eye catching cover and interesting synopsis I had to give this a try. That turned out to be a great choice and I really enjoyed it! This was an action packed, engrossing read and I’m looking forward to the sequel!Β Check out my full review here!
