The Kingdom of Back – Marie Lu (🌟🌟🌟🌟)
Born with a gift for music, Nannerl Mozart has just one wish–to be remembered forever. But even as she delights audiences with her masterful playing, she has little hope she’ll ever become the acclaimed composer she longs to be. She is a young woman in 18th century Europe, and that means composing is forbidden to her. She will perform only until she reaches a marriageable age–her tyrannical father has made that much clear.
And as Nannerl’s hope grows dimmer with each passing year, the talents of her beloved younger brother, Wolfgang, only seem to shine brighter. His brilliance begins to eclipse her own, until one day a mysterious stranger from a magical land appears with an irresistible offer. He has the power to make her wish come true–but his help may cost her everything.
In her first work of historical fiction, #1 New York Times bestselling author Marie Lu spins a lush, lyrically-told story of music, magic, and the unbreakable bond between a brother and sister.
I enjoyed this way more than I expected to, a truly enchanting read! Review to come.

As their group is continually torn apart, the girl, the prince, and the monster find their fates irrevocably intertwined. They’re pieces on a board, being orchestrated by someone… or something. The voices that Serefin hears in the darkness, the ones that Nadya believes are her gods, the ones that Malachiasz is desperate to meet—those voices want a stake in the world, and they refuse to stay quiet any longer.

What are you reading this week? Let me know in the comments below!
I’ve been so out of the loop with new releases I didn’t even know Marie Lu had a new book! How?! I’ll need to put it on my wish list, that’s for sure, haha.
I’m hoping to read House of Earth and Blood this year at least but with all the other books I’m hoping to read.. Ugh. The struggle of loving all the books and buying all the books and then having to read all the books.. 😀

I know what you mean! I felt this book was so low key in terms of how much I heard about it before it was published compared to say, Warcross. Lol, the TBR just keeps piling up 😄

Exactly! I don’t get how or why to be honest? Ha, that’s simply what a TBR does, isn’t it? 😛
