Goodreads Book Tag

Hello readers! I came across this book tag on Berry’s Poetry Book Reviews earlier this year, and it seemed like a great way to wrap up March, which has been a pretty crazy month with too many great new books, and not nearly enough reading time to get through them all.

What is the last book you marked as “read”?

The Queen of Paris: A Novel of Coco Chanel by Pamela Binnings Ewen. Check out my full review here.

What are you currently reading?

House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas.

What is the last book you marked as “to-read”?

The Shadow Mission by Shamim Sarif. It’s the sequel to the spy thriller The Athena Protocol and it releases later this year.

What book do you plan on reading next?

The Light in Hidden Places by Sharon Cameron. I’ve recently started reading more World War II era historical fiction, and this sounds like a really interesting one!

Do you use the star rating system?

Yes, though I find it to be very misleading since there are no half star ratings.

Are you doing the 2020 reading challenge?

I am! My base goal is always, 100 books, which I then increase as I draw closer to it. I’ve currently finished 51 books this year.

Do you have a wishlist?

I do have a wish list of books that I’ve read and want to buy at some point.

What book do you plan on buying next?

Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas. It’s the last one I need to complete my collection of the Throne of Glass series and I’m hoping to buy it soon.

What is your favourite quote?

Way too many to count, but here’s one from a recent read I really liked:

“ “We do not get to choose when in our lives we feel pain,” said Matthew. “It comes when it comes, and we try to remember, even though we cannot imagine a day when it will release its hold on us, that all pain fades. All misery passes. Humanity is drawn to light, not darkness.” ”
– Chain of Gold, Cassandra Clare

Who are your favourite authors?

This is a list that could go on for quite some time, but for the purpose of the question: J.R.R. Tolkien, J.K. Rowling, Cassandra Clare and Sarah J. Maas.

Are you a part of any Goodreads groups?

Yes, but I’m rarely active on them.

What could Goodreads do better?

Half-star ratings!

I had a lot of fun doing this tag! What would be your picks for these prompts? Consider yourself tagged! Make sure to link back so I can read your answers and also remember to credit the creator of the tag!

I can’t wait to read Chain of Gold and Crescent City, and I think half star ratings would be incredibly useful! There are so many times on Goodreads that I wish I could rate a book using 1/2 stars. Fun post!
