Ten Bookish Questions Tag

Hello readers! Yes, today is supposed to be a review day as per my schedule, but I’m having a really hard time finishing my current read, so everything is backlogged. Hopefully, it’ll be up tomorrow, but in the meantime, I’m doing a book tag today! I came across this tag on Read to Ramble a few months ago.

How many books do you own?

Physical books, probably around 150 or so. Then there’s my kindle collection which I don’t even bother trying to count 😅

How many books are you currently reading?

Ummm….4? I’m currently struggling through The Other Side of the Sky while rereading Kingdom of Ash for the third or fourth time. But both of these promptly got put aside when my library holds came in and I finally got my hands on Skyhunter and Fable.

Choose a couple of books you read but didn’t enjoy.

The Starless Sea has easily been my worst reading experience in the last decade. The Fate of the Tearling is another one – it was good right until the last 25% which basically ruined everything.

A cover buy?

I rarely do this, but I recently bought this beautiful faux leather edition of The Arabian Nights that’s all deep blue and gold, not to mention sparkly. I’d been meaning to buy a copy for a while anyway, so it’s not much of a cover buy, but as close to one as I get.

A book you own but hate the cover of?

I don’t think I really have one like this. I tend to wait for an edition I like to buy, although I do have an old edition of Anne’s House of Dreams which has a rather boring cover.

A book you haven’t read in years?

A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. I read this way back in middle school and I’ve been planning to reread it soon.

A book you will always recommend?

Lord of the Rings, of course! But for something more recent, I would also recommend Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston.

All time favourite book series?

I’m repeating myself here a bit, but oh well. I have several really, because it’s impossible to pick just one:
Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare (though I would recommend all her books)
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

Where do you read?

Depends on my mood and the weather, but usually on my bed or the comfiest couch in the living room.

What are the last two books you gave a five star rating to and why?

The Tower of Nero by Rick Riordan because it was just so good, and I got way too emotional reading and saying goodbye to these characters and the world of Percy Jackson. House of Earth and Blood was another one that I rated 5 stars because this one just completely blew me away. By the first 150 pages, I fully expected to hate it and DNF within the next couple of chapters but once that story got started, it was a complete roller coaster ride that I thoroughly enjoyed.

I had a lot of fun doing this tag! What would be your answers for these questions? Consider yourself tagged! Make sure to link back so I can read your answers!

Woah, what a fun tag, plus I really liked your answers 😀
Especially the no. Of books you own one, even I don’t own that many in physical 😅

Thanks! I do my best to keep the number of physical books I buy to a minimum because I hate unhauling them, but sometimes I have no restraint and this is the result 😅
