How I Read Book Tag

Hello readers, I’m back with another book tag today. It’s been an extremely busy month, and I needed to take a little break after three back to back heavy reads, so I decided to do something different for today. I found this tag on Pages and Plots and this seems like the perfect time for it as this year has actually changed a lot of my reading habits.

Do you have a certain place at home for reading?

Depending on the time of day, the living room couch, or my bed.

Bookmark or random piece of paper?

Bookmark, always a bookmark. I have far too many that I’ve collected or made over the years and they’re all at hand in my bedside drawer. Generally, I pick out a bookmark at the same time I choose what book I’m reading next, so I never need to use pieces of paper or anything else.

Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/ a certain amount of pages?

I’m a binge reader whenever possible, but if I can’t finish the book in one go, I always need to stop at the end of a chapter.

Do you eat or drink while reading?

Generally something like tea or hot chocolate along with some snacks, but rarely a full meal – I always get too distracted by the book and forget all about my food.

Multitasking: Music or TV while reading?

I can’t have music playing when I’m reading, but if it’s not a very heavy read, I don’t mind the TV at a low volume.

One book at a time or several at once?

Usually atleast two, but actually probably closer to 4 😅 They’re always different genres, and if possible different formats as well.

Reading at home or everywhere?

Everywhere! When going to work was still a thing, I used to get the majority of my reading done on my daily commute. Besides that, anytime I have a bit of free time, whether it’s in line at the store, or a doctor’s appointment – I generally have my Kindle with me, and if not, there’s always a few books on my phone.

Reading out loud or silently in your head?

In my head mostly. Though I have to admit, I’ve read some of my favourite scenes out loud just to see how they sound – but only if no one else is around.

Do you read ahead or even skip pages?

I never skip pages, but I accidentally read ahead sometimes when I’m trying to check how many pages there are to go until the end of the chapter.

Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?

I keep it like new as long as I can, but it happens eventually and I try to break it as gently as possible.

Do you write in your books?

Never! In my book, that’s nearly as criminal as dog-earing pages!

What are your reading habits? I’m not going to be tagging anyone, but do feel free to do this tag if you like it. Make sure to link back so I can read your answers!
