Happy New Year 2021!!
This December was quite a hectic month for me as I attempted a 25 day Blogmas for the first time. Surprisingly enough, I actually managed to post everyday, and it was a lot of fun, so I’ll probably be continuing it going forward too! I read fewer books than usual this month, but I did spend much of my Christmas break catching up on TV shows and movies I’ve been meaning to watch for a while, so overall, a rather productive month!

Reading Challenge Updates
1. Epic Reads Reading Challenge: UPCOMING YA ADAPTATIONS
Chosen Book: Shadow and Bone – Leigh Bardugo
Surrounded by enemies, the once-great nation of Ravka has been torn in two by the Shadow Fold, a swath of near impenetrable darkness crawling with monsters who feast on human flesh. Now its fate may rest on the shoulders of one lonely refugee.
Alina Starkov has never been good at anything. But when her regiment is attacked on the Fold and her best friend is brutally injured, Alina reveals a dormant power that saves his lifeβa power that could be the key to setting her war-ravaged country free. Wrenched from everything she knows, Alina is whisked away to the royal court to be trained as a member of the Grisha, the magical elite led by the mysterious Darkling.
Yet nothing in this lavish world is what it seems. With darkness looming and an entire kingdom depending on her untamed power, Alina will have to confront the secrets of the Grisha…and the secrets of her heart.
I can’t believe there’s only four months to go until the Netflix show is out! I’ve started a full series reread including Six of Crows and I’m hoping to finish it before Rule of Wolves is out in March!

HOLIDAY ESCAPE: Escape into your favourite book, holiday themed or not
Chosen book: A Torch Against the Night – Sabaa Tahir
Elias and Laia are running for their lives. After the events of the Fourth Trial, Martial soldiers hunt the two fugitives as they flee the city of Serra and undertake a perilous journey through the heart of the Empire.
Laia is determined to break into Kaufβthe Empireβs most secure and dangerous prisonβto save her brother, who is the key to the Scholarsβ survival. And Elias is determined to help Laia succeed, even if it means giving up his last chance at freedom.
But dark forces, human and otherworldly, work against Laia and Elias. The pair must fight every step of the way to outsmart their enemies: the bloodthirsty Emperor Marcus, the merciless Commandant, the sadistic Warden of Kauf, and, most heartbreaking of all, HeleneβEliasβs former friend and the Empireβs newest Blood Shrike.
Bound to Marcusβs will, Helene faces a torturous mission of her ownβone that might destroy her: find the traitor Elias Veturius and the Scholar slave who helped him escapeβ¦and kill them both.
This book is one I’ve been meaning to reread for a while, and with the final book out this month, it was the perfect time for it!
