Hello readers! I’m still stuck in a reading slump unfortunately, so I haven’t been able to get through many books lately, but today, I’m doing The Ancient History Book Tag that I saw over on Hannah’s Bookshelf a while ago. The original tag was created by Books Michelle.
The Stone Age: one of the first books you remember reading
A hard question, but it’s probably either Enid Blyton’s Malory Towers series or Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Ancient Greece: your favourite myth-inspired book (doesn’t have to be Greek mythology), or retelling
Percy Jackson is hands down my favourite mythology inspired series. I’m also really fond of The Song of Achilles.
The Roman Empire: a book featuring an impressive empire or kingdom
An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir – it’s also inspired by Ancient Rome!
The Middle Ages, (or the Dark Ages): a book that is an absolute bummer
Um…Twilight?
The Renaissance: a book that you’ve learned a lot from, or that made you think
The Diary of Anne Frank
The Industrial Revolution: a book featuring an invention or concept that you would love to have in your own life
I know it’s kind of the obvious choice, but literally everything from Harry Potter.
World War I & II: your favourite historical fiction book about the World Wars (or if you don’t have one, your favourite historical fiction book in general)
I haven’t read many WWI books, but from the WWII novels I’ve read, a few are: Code Name Verity, Salt to the Sea, Beneath A Scarlet Sky and Code Name Helene.
Present Day: a book everybody should read in present day according to you
Any of the classics. Charles Dickens, Jane Austen and Shakespeare are some of my favorite authors in this category.
As usual, I won’t be tagging anyone, but feel free to do this tag if it interests you – I’d love to hear your answers for these questions!
i need to read more charles dickens and jane austen, they’re fantastic! great post raji!💜

That’s great! (and a little odd..) I was just thinking of rereading that series again earlier. I hope it’s helping!

I guess I miss out on many books! I yet have to read Percy Jackson and I absolutely LOVE Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. There are only a few books I have read by Charles Dickens but my favourite is Great Expectations! Have you read Famous Five though? (you mentioned Malory Towers by Enid Blyton) Famous Five is one of the books that first got me to reading btw!😊. Love this post
