There are just some days when you completely forget to prepare a post beforehand. In those instances, is there a specific kind of post you quickly throw together to stay on schedule?
This actually happens quite a lot to me, and always with book reviews, since despite having a reading schedule, I’m a mood reader and don’t always finish the book I planned to review on time. It’s also very rare that I’m that ahead in my reading that I have a review of another book in place of one that’s not ready, so I have to fall back on some of easier types of posts to use at the last minute. I usually have a couple of book tag posts drafted that I can put together in around half an hour.
Do you just miss the day and move on?
If I can’t come up with something to replace the original post by the evening before the post is supposed to go up, I do give the day a miss because rule one about blogging for me is no stress. The exception for this is ARCs, in which case I try my best to post the review that day, even if it’s not at my usual time, and the same goes for blog tours.
If you can’t come up with any new ideas for posts, what do you usually end up recycling?
It’s very unlikely that I’d be completely out of ideas for a post since I tend to plan at least two months ahead of time. So far, I’ve never recycled a post and I don’t think I’d like to either, so I would probably just miss the day.
