Merry Christmas and welcome to the final post of Blogmas 2021!! I’m quite happy that I actually managed to complete Blogmas this year given how little preparation I was able to do ahead of time and for my last post, I thought I would share a quick glimpse of all the books I added to my shelves this year.
I am going to be on hiatus for the next week and will be taking the time to relax and recharge from the crazy year, and of course, also read more books in line with my 2022 goal of staying ahead in my reading. There are a few of my routine posts scheduled in the next week, but I will not be back on the blog until the new year, so wishing everyone a Happy New Year ahead of time!

My favorite book that I picked up this year is the Facsimile First Edition of The Hobbit, which is basically an exact replica of the original first edition where the story is slightly different from the version available today. This was an impulse buy through and through, though I had been looking for a new edition of The Hobbit, and it’s undoubtedly one of the most unique books I have on my shelves.
I also finally bought two books I’ve been wanting for ages – Crooked Kingdom to complete my collection and The Wrath and the Dawn.
I was also sent some amazing ARCs and review copies this year, so thank you again to the publishers, publicists and authors for the opportunity to read and review these books. All reviews are live on my blog!
Here’s the full list:
- The Hobbit Facsimile First Edition – J.R.R. Tolkien
- Crooked Kingdom – Leigh Bardugo
- The Wrath and the Dawn – Renee Ahdieh
ARCs/Review Copies:
- The Woman With The Blue Star – Pam Jenoff
- Witches Steeped in Gold – Ciannon Smart
- The Darkness Outside Us – Eliot Schrefer
- White Smoke – Tiffany D. Jackson
- Sisters of the Snake – Sarena and Sasha Nanua
- Dark and Shallow Lies – Ginny Myers Sain
- Not Here To Be Liked – Michelle Quach
- Over My Dead Body – Jeffrey Archer
- The Postmistress of Paris – Meg Waite Clayton
What is your favorite addition to your shelves this year? Merry Christmas and see you all in the new year!
Merry Christmas (and a Happy New Year for next week!)

I will be forever in love with your edition of The Hobbit! One day I will have one of my own.
This year the Complete Calvin & Hobbes is my most treasured addition to my shelves. It was a Solstice present from my parents and it is just beautiful. 🙂

Merry (belated) Christmas! I still haven’t read The Hobbit but it’s amazing you have a first edition – that’s so cool! There are so many here that I really want to read; I still need to buy White Smoke and Sisters Of The Snake. Thanks for sharing!
