Happy Monday readers! Today I’m sharing the results from the survey I did for my 4th blogiversary back in October. Thank you to everyone who took the time to fill it out, it was my first survey, so I was really excited to see so many responses! Your feedback has been really valuable to me as I consider what direction to take in this, my fifth year of blogging. Without further ado, here are the results!
1. How did you first come across my blog?

I received an interesting mix of responses for this one. As expected, Twitter was the highest given that I spent quite a bit of time there daily, but I was also happy to see that readers are finding my blog through other avenues. The Let’s Talk Bookish posts have been so much to write over the past two years, and this is good motivation to continue it!
2. How long have you been following/reading my blog?

Over 2/3rds of you have been following my blog since the early days and some of you right from the very beginning, which is so amazing to see, and I really appreciate it! The past year has also brought many new readers to my blog, so welcome and I hope you enjoy reading the bookish content I share here!
3. What kind of posts do you enjoy reading the most on Worlds Unlike Our Own?

This was one of the questions I was most curious to see the responses on. Of all the posts I write, the maximum effort goes into book reviews, followed by the Let’s Talk Bookish posts and it was wonderful to see that readers enjoy those two the most. Book reviews were the clear winner here, and I’m really happy that you all like reading my overly long rants on various books 😊
4. Which book reviews do you prefer reading?

ARC reviews had the highest response rate here, followed by new titles, so I suppose focusing close to 80% of my yearly TBR on new titles works. I’m also glad to see that readers like my ARC reviews as they take a fair amount more effort than regular new releases or backlist titles due to needing to time the post appropriately, finish reading the book by then and writing a spoiler-free review as well.
5. Which genre of book reviews do you prefer to read?

This was probably the biggest surprise. For some reason, I expected this one to be somewhat skewed towards a single genre, but apparently all three genres are equally well liked by readers – I guess that’s a sign to add more such titles to my TBR this year!
6. Do you have any suggestions or feedback for me?
The general feedback I got on this question was that readers would like to see reviews of the books I read from other genres as well, not only the fantasy-historical fiction-mystery trio I typically stick to for this blog. Since opening my TBR to new genres is one of my constant goals, I hope to expand my reviews in this direction too!
Thank you again for taking my survey! I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
Loving the way you have broken these down into graphs! It is so awesome to see also that the genres you review are equally well enjoyed. 🙂

Thank you! It was quite surprising to find that readers enjoy all the genres equally given that I read and review significantly more fantasy novels, but maybe that’s a sign that I need to change up my TBR to include more books from the other genres too!

I actually found your blog through LTB. I wish there was a LinkUp on Aria’s blog to make it easier to find others. Maybe that really should help 🙂

That’s great to know! I agree, a linkup for LTB would be so useful. Thanks for reading and commenting!

What a great idea Raji! I love stats such as these. Will you change anything as a result of this information?

Thanks Jodie! I’m definitely trying to branch out my reading a little more and not stick to just YA and the genres I usually review after seeing this feedback!

Doing a survey is such a good idea and I love that you asked pointed questions to learn more about your audience! I didn’t enter the survey but I’ve known you for quite a while I think (am I remembering wrong or did I interview you for a blog series a couple of years back?) and I’m pretty sure I found your blog through twt too!

Thanks Sumedha! Yes, you did do a blogger interview with me two years ago I think? It’s great to know Twitter is working for my blog since I’m not the most comfortable engaging on social media but I’ve been trying my best 🙂
