Wrap Ups

Monthly Wrap Up | November 2021 | Blogmas 2021: Day 1

Good morning readers, and welcome to my first post of Blogmas 2021! November has been an insanely busy month, so I’m less prepared for the upcoming weeks than I would like, but I have my fingers crossed that I’ll be able to catch up on some reading soon. Speaking of reading, this past month has…

Monthly Wrap Up | October 2021

Hello readers, hope you all had a great Halloween! October was a busy month for me between work and blogging, but as far as reading goes, I’m on track and got around to reading some of the most anticipated books on my TBR this year, which were just as amazing as expected! I actually stuck to my schedule all month long and I’m hoping it will continue through to the end of this year, because I have some really fun posts planned for the holiday season. November is going to be another hectic month, with the final few major releases of the year, but it’s also my birthday month, and so my favorite month of the year!…

Monthly Wrap Up | September 2021

September has just flown by! It was an excellent reading month, as I finally got to read some of my most anticipated releases of the year, with several more lined up on my TBR in the coming weeks. Let’s take a look! 11 Books 3,888 Pages Goodreads Challenge Progress: 118/150

Monthly Wrap Up | August 2021

August felt like the longest month and was also kind of slow on the reading front for me, courtesy of a reading slump that lasted over a week. So I didn’t get through as many books as I usually do, but there were a few interesting reads. September, however, is the month I look forward to the most all year, and 2021 is no exception. This month alone is adding 16 new titles to my TBR and I can’t wait to read all of them – make sure to check out my post this Saturday highlighting the books I’m most excited for! With that, let’s take a look at my comparatively quiet August.…

Monthly Wrap Up | July 2021

July wasn’t a particularly good reading month for me as I had not one but two mini reading slumps in the second half of the month. However, I’m very close to my original reading goal for the year of 100 books, so it is now officially raised to 150! This is a much shorter wrap up than usual, but let’s take a look!…

Monthly Wrap Up | June 2021

Welcome back to my monthly wrapup! June felt like the longest month for some reason, but it was also a great reading month. A bunch of my library holds came in at last, so I was able to catch up on some of the new releases from earlier this year. I’m also nearing my first reading goal of the year, so I fully expect to have moved it up to 150 by the time I post next month’s wrapup. Let’s take a look!…

Monthly Wrap Up | May 2021

Hello readers! I’m sharing my monthly wrapup a day earlier than usual for May since this week on my blog turned out to be somewhat packed so I’m trying to spread out the posts a little. This month was much slower than usual in terms of reading and blogging since I wasn’t well for a while and needed to take quite a few days from my books which threw my schedule way off track. I did get to read some really great books though and thanks to the blog tours I was part of this month, I picked up two amazing books that I probably wouldn’t have heard of otherwise. Let’s take a look at what I read!…

Monthly Wrap Up | April 2021

Hello readers! I can’t believe it’s time for another monthly wrap up already – April certainly flew by, and with it the first third of 2021. The major event this month for me was the Shadow and Bone Netflix series, which was amazing – it’s easily one of the best book to screen adaptations I’ve…

Monthly Wrap Up | March 2021

March was a surprisingly productive month for me on both the reading and blogging fronts. For the first time in several months, I’m actually ahead of schedule, and I’m hoping April will be the same. Anyway, on with the post, let’s look at my reading month!…

Monthly Wrap Up | February 2021

Hello readers! February is the shortest month of the year, but I always feel like it crawls by, and this year was no exception. I didn’t get as much reading done this month as I would have liked, however, many of those I did read were rather long and heavy so I had to pace myself. It’s finally March though, and there are some amazing books to look forward to this month, from Chain of Iron to Rule of Wolves – I can’t wait!…

Monthly Wrap Up | January 2021

Hello readers! One month of the new year is already over and I hope you’re all having a great 2021 so far (or atleast better than 2020). It has been a pretty busy start to the year for me, but I did get a good amount of reading done. New titles this month have been something of a mixed bag, but I did manage to get to a few backlist titles I had left over from last year as well. Let’s take a look at what I read this month!…

2020 Wrap Up – A Year in Books + What’s Coming in 2021

2020 has been the longest year, but it’s over at last. On the blogging front however, it has been an amazing year and I’ve hit so many milestones! I wrote my 300th post in August, hit 500 followers both here on WordPress and on Twitter in September and Worlds Unlike Our Own officially turned 2 years old in October. Let’s take a look at 2020 on my blog and what’s new this year!…

Monthly Wrap Up | December 2020

Happy New Year 2021!!
This December was quite a hectic month for me as I attempted a 25 day Blogmas for the first time. Surprisingly enough, I actually managed to post everyday, and it was a lot of fun, so I’ll probably be continuing it going forward too! I read fewer books than usual this month, but I did spend much of my Christmas break catching up on TV shows and movies I’ve been meaning to watch for a while, so overall, a rather productive month!…

Monthly Wrap Up | November 2020 | Blogmas Day 1

November has been my busiest month so far this year, between catching up on the last couple of pending 2020 titles and preparing for Blogmas. The major news this month is that I’ve completed my Goodreads reading goal! I won’t be raising it any further, but I’m hoping to get to around 225 by the end of December. And of course, Christmas is only weeks away and even though it’s going to be very quiet this year, I’m still very excited!…

Monthly Wrap Up | October 2020

I can’t believe it’s already November! Hope you are all staying safe and had a great Halloween! October was a much better reading month than I expected, even if The Tower of Nero did send me into a mini reading slump (totally worth it). November is admittedly one of my favourite months of the year, mostly it’s my birthday month, but it’s also the time when the flood of new books has comparatively slowed down and I can finally start catching up. More importantly though, there’s just one month until A Sky Beyond the Storm is out, and I’m super excited! And now, onto the books!…

Monthly Wrap Up | September 2020

Another month has flown past! July was pretty packed for me in terms of my 2020 TBR and I had a very productive reading month! My NetGalley shelf is exploding yet again and my goal for August is to get it back to that elusive 80% that I had before. In other news, my blog was featured in Alison @ BossyLibrarian’s post of Best Book Blogs to Read This Summer earlier this month and I’d like to say thanks again to her for including me in this list along with all these amazing bloggers!…

Monthly Wrap Up | August 2020

August was comparatively a rather poor reading month for me, mainly because I had several heavier titles to get through, which meant I needed to take longer breaks between books. But fall is finally here, and with so many great books out in the next couple of weeks especially, I can’t wait to dive in!…

Monthly Wrap Up | July 2020

Another month has flown past! July was pretty packed for me in terms of my 2020 TBR and I had a very productive reading month! My NetGalley shelf is exploding yet again and my goal for August is to get it back to that elusive 80% that I had before. In other news, my blog was featured in Alison @ BossyLibrarian’s post of Best Book Blogs to Read This Summer earlier this month and I’d like to say thanks again to her for including me in this list along with all these amazing bloggers!…

Monthly Wrap Up | June 2020

Happy Canada Day readers!! I can’t believe it’s July and we’re already halfway through 2020! June went by rather quickly despite yet another month of social distancing. While I didn’t read as many books as last month – my speed drastically slowed down this month for some reason – I am on track with my ARC reviews and nearly caught up on this year’s TBR. I am also only fifteen books from my updated reading goal, which probably means I’ll be increasing it again next month. I’m really hoping I can cross 200 books this year!…

Monthly Wrap Up | May 2020

May has been quite the productive month for me! Admittedly, I spent more of my reading time on comics this month than I intended to, but I did still manage to get some pretty good novels in there too. Another month of mostly staying home has gone by and it looks like I’m going to be working from home for a while yet, but in good news, the bookstores are finally open again! I’ve also been trying to find better ways to track my TBR and especially my ARCs this month and hopefully it’ll to be a lot more efficient going forward. And of course, I hit my first reading goal for the Goodreads Reading Challenge, which was 100 books and have now moved it up to the next goal of 150! Happy reading and stay safe!…

Monthly Wrap Up | April 2020

April felt like the longest month yet this year! Staying indoors freed up a lot more time for reading than usual, and I was able to check off multiple larger titles off both my TBR for this year as well as my backlist, just in time for the flood of new books that usually accompanies May.…

Monthly Wrap Up | March 2020

March has been a pretty crazy month and the last two weeks especially have flown by. Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe. We’re not on lockdown here in Toronto so far, but still trying to stay home as much as possible, which gets boring really quickly, but makes for a lot of added reading time at least. Here’s a chance to work on that no doubt enormous TBR pile! But in other news, I got through quite a number of books this month, including some childhood favourites.…

Monthly Wrap Up | February 2020

February might be the shortest month of the year, but it was my busiest in quite some time! I’m still on track with all of my reading goals and I also made a major dent in my backlist this month, finally finishing the second longest book I had in there, just in time for March, which has nearly half a dozen of my most anticipated books for the year! Two days until Chain of Gold!!…

Monthly Wrap Up | January 2020

I can hardly believe a month’s already flown by! January was a great reading month for me, and also a great start to my 2020. I finally managed to finish a book that was slowing me down since November, and more importantly, am completely on track with my 2020 reading list, no backlog this month! I’ve taken up three reading challenges this year as you’ll see below, along with the never ending quest to beat the backlist, but I’m feeling quite optimistic about it as I’ve got my reading schedule planned out much more closely than usual and I’m hoping to knock out a few of the bigger reads early in the year before the deluge of summer releases starts. Here are my reading stats for January 2020!…

2019 Wrap Up – A Year in Books + What’s Coming in 2020

It’s New Year’s Eve, and 2018 is coming to a close. January 2019 marks three months of blogging for me, and the only thing I have to say is – I can’t believe I didn’t do this earlier! I’d been toying with the idea of starting my own blog for years, and now that I have, it’s even more fun than I imagined! With that, I have here today my wrap up for the year and an introduction to 2019: my blogging plans, TBR and more!…

Monthly Wrap Up | December 2019

And here’s the final wrap-up for 2019! This was a much slower reading month for me since I was away on vacation for a while, but I took the time to reread a few favourites both old and new, along with a final few books from my 2019 TBR. Keep an eye out for my 2019 review post coming soon!…

Monthly Wrap Up | November 2019

November was a less productive month than usual for me. While I did knock off a few major reads still pending on this year’s TBR, I still have a couple of mammoth books that I’m not sure I’ll be able to get to this year, namely The Priory of the Orange Tree and Alison Weir’s…

Monthly Wrap Up | October 2019

This month marked my first blogversary – I can’t believe it’s been a year already, and what an amazing year it has been! Thank you to my wonderful readers for all your support and feedback! October was definitely a busy month – I completed The Heroes of Olympus series re-read I had planned for this year, and am halfway through The Alchemyst series as well. But more importantly, with the end of this month, I’ve completed my reading goal for the year, 150 books!…

Monthly Wrap Up | September 2019

September has been an interesting month and I got quite a lot done. I participated in my first blog tour and also caught up on most of my pending ARCs, leaving only 22 books on my 2019 TBR. I think I might actually be able to end this year without adding to my backlist!…

Monthly Wrap Up | August 2019

August has been a busy month! Most of my reads this month were ARCs in an effort to tame that bursting list, although I did manage to fit in a few backlist titles too. I published my 100th blog post earlier this month and also hit 200 followers! Thank you so much to my readers and subscribers for all your support!…

Monthly Wrap Up | July 2019

Another month gone, and a busy one at that! July was a little slower on the reading front, but I did blog a lot more than usual. I also find myself with more ARCs in hand than I can read, especially as I’m still (slowly) working my way through the BookCon pile, and I’m really excited for some of my newer eARCs, so keep an eye out for the reviews!…

Monthly Wrap Up | June 2019

June is at an end, and in Canada, summer is finally in full swing! Between BookCon and a huge pile of books to catch up on (not to mention the review backlog), it has been quite a busy month! Not to mention, we’re already halfway through the year, so it’s time to take a look…

Monthly Wrap Up | May 2019

Well, it certainly has been a task keeping up with all the new books this month! I’ve read so many amazing books this month, and some that I didn’t expect to enjoy but loved. Red, White & Royal Blue stands out on my list from May, and is definitely making my best of year shelf!…

Monthly Wrap Up | April 2019

April was a rather slow reading month for me, and while I did get through all the new releases I had marked on my TBR, I didn’t really have a chance to finish as many backlist titles as I would have liked. May is looking up however, with tons of amazing books set to be released over the next couple of weeks, it’s going to be a busy month!…

Monthly Wrap Up | March 2019

March was…different. I had a rather poor start to the month with a string of rather disappointing reads, unfortunately, but luckily the trend did not continue as with a sudden influx of amazing ARCs (some of which I had not expected to get approved for at all), March turned out to be a pretty great month after all!…

Monthly Wrap Up | February 2019

Shortest month of the year, but somehow, it felt really long! With multiple snowstorms and just all round terrible weather, it has been the perfect month to curl up with a good book and some hot chocolate – and I definitely made good use of it! I got through a very good variety this month with an even mix of new releases, backlist titles and some old childhood favourites. Without further ado, here’s a look at my February 2019!…

Monthly Wrap Up | January 2019

January has flown by, and it certainly was a busy month! However, I’ve managed to get through nearly every single new release I had on my TBR and it has been a great start to my reading year!…

2018 Wrap Up – A Year in Books + What’s Coming in 2019

It’s New Year’s Eve, and 2018 is coming to a close. January 2019 marks three months of blogging for me, and the only thing I have to say is – I can’t believe I didn’t do this earlier! I’d been toying with the idea of starting my own blog for years, and now that I have, it’s even more fun than I imagined!
