Monthly Wrap Up | January 2023

Hello readers and welcome to my first monthly wrap up post of 2023! January has just flown by, and I’m really glad to have started the new year with some amazing reads. In a change of plans, I have decided to pick up a couple of reading challenges for the year and will be including updates for them in these posts going forward. One of my new challenges is to read atleast one classic each month, and another is to read atleast two titles from my backlist each month. I’ve also changed the format of my book reviews and monthly wrapups this year, so I’d love to hear your thoughts on them. Let’s take a look at my January!

2022 Wrap Up – A Year in Books + What’s Coming in 2023

2022 has flown by! It has been an interesting year and in terms of blogging, a rather mixed one for me. The first half of the year was business as usual, but unfortunately blogging had to take something of a backseat during the latter half due to various issues and I had to slow things down significantly. Nonetheless, I’ve read some truly amazing books in 2022 and I’m looking forward to many more this year!

My major milestone last year was crossing 50,000 all time views on my blog which happened back in August. I also hit 900 posts just in time for the new year and am drawing really close to the 800 followers mark here on WordPress. Worlds Unlike Our Own turned 4 years old in October and I’m very excited to be going into my fifth year of blogging with that milestone coming up this year. Let’s take a look at 2022 on my blog and what’s new this year!

Most Anticipated Books | January 2023

Hello readers and welcome to the first of this year’s Most Anticipated Books post! While January is typically a quieter month on my TBR, this year is an exception with not one but two highly awaited sequels – I can’t believe Chain of Thorns is finally here!!!

Monthly Wrap Up | December 2022

Happy New Year 2023 readers and welcome to the first monthly wrap up post of the year! I returned from travelling this month just in time to write this post, and it was certainly a productive couple of weeks on the reading front – long flights and layovers make for a lot of reading time, which allowed me to complete my reading goal for the year. Despite not having any blogmas content this year, I hope you all enjoyed reading the posts I did have scheduled throughout the month! A more detailed 2022 wrap up will follow later this week or next, but for now, let’s take a look at my stats for the last month!

2022 Book Haul

Merry Christmas and welcome to my 2022 book haul post!

The funny thing is that I intended to add very few physical books to my shelves this year and managed to keep myself from buying any books for most of 2022 – until my birthday, which is when it all went out the window and now I have a good sized pile of new books after all. Let’s take a look!

Best of 2022

Welcome to my annual post discussing my best of shelf picks for 2022! My regular readers will know that I rarely rate a book above 4 stars and even fewer of those make this list. Of the nearly 150 books I’ve read so far this year, I’ve chosen 5 for this list – a much lower number than recent years.

As a reminder of the criteria I use for this list, the book has to be published in the same year, I should have given it a rating of 4 stars or higher, with something that I felt made it stand out over the other books. The titles are actually ranked for a change this year. I usually have a really hard time doing so, but this time, there were some reads that were simply head and shoulders above the rest, so I figured it would be a shame to not rank them. Without further ado, let’s check out my favorite books of 2022!

End of the Year Book Tag

Welcome to the annual End of the Year Book Tag! It’s exactly one week to Christmas and I find this to be the perfect time to reflect on all the reading I’ve done this year. I initially found this tag on Green Tea and Paperbacks.

Monthly Wrap Up | November 2022

Hello readers, and welcome to my November wrapup! I was still stuck in an on and off reading slump this month, so I decided to stick entirely to mood reading. A good thing too, because where recent months have flown by, November practically crawled by for me and revisiting some old favorites was just the thing to keep my mood up. I’ve also been working on my 2023 TBR, and it should be up closer to the new year. December’s certainly going to be an interesting month given that I’m close to 30 books away from my target for the year, but I’m anticipating a lot of reading time so fingers crossed – I might yet reach my goal! Let’s take a look at my November!
